For many people, the dream of becoming a pilot begins long before they ever step into a real aircraft. It starts in childhood – with imagination, model airplanes, airport visits, or the excitement of sitting in front of a flight simulator and wondering what it would feel like to fly for real. For some, that dream remains distant. But for others, with the right support, the right training, and the right people behind them, it becomes reality.

Blue Angels Flight Experience and SkyEagle Aviation Academy Create a New Pilot Training Pathway

Today, SkyEagle Aviation Academy is proud to share exciting news: we are launching a new international training partnership with Blue Angels Flight Experience in Nassau, Bahamas, creating a new pathway for aspiring pilots to begin their aviation journey at home and continue their professional training with us in South Florida.

This partnership is especially meaningful because it connects inspiration with action. Blue Angels Flight Experience has built a welcoming environment in Nassau where students, young people, future aviators, and aviation enthusiasts can experience the world of flight through modern simulator training. Its mission is to provide an accessible space where people of all ages can learn about aviation, and it offers basic, intermediate, and advanced simulator experiences, including FAA-approved training devices.

The company also emphasizes local opportunity through STEM education and aviation exposure in The Bahamas.

Sheryl Carey

At the center of Blue Angels Flight Experience is Sheryl Carey, the company’s CEO, who is also a pilot, which makes this partnership especially meaningful because it is led by professionals who truly understand the journey from first inspiration to real flight training. Her leadership and aviation passion have helped shape Blue Angels into a place where aviation feels possible, approachable, and exciting. Sheryl explains that Blue Angels was created to make aviation more accessible and to give both aspiring and current pilots an affordable way to experience and strengthen their skills.

For SkyEagle, this is more than a new relationship. It is the result of years of trust, shared vision. This new collaboration reflects that long-standing mutual respect and belief in what both organizations can build together. An important milestone took place in Nassau on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

What will this pilot pathway look like?

The concept is simple, powerful, and student-focused. Through Blue Angels Flight Experience in Nassau, Bahamian students will be introduced to aviation in a supportive environment and prepared for the following aviation education. After completing that stage, students will then continue to SkyEagle Aviation Academy for their flight training in the United States. This creates a smoother transition from aviation curiosity and foundational preparation into structured professional pilot training.

SkyEagle is a fully certificated FAA Part 141 and Part 61 flight training organization offering pilot training from Private Pilot through Commercial, along with instrument, multi-engine, CFI, CFII, and ATP-CTP course options. SkyEagle’s experience with international students notes a 90%+ first-attempt checkride pass rate across all certificates.

Explaining the difference between Part 141 and Part 61

Both Part 141 and Part 61 can lead to the same pilot certificates and ratings. The main difference is how the training is organized and delivered, not the value of the certificate at the end.

Part 141

Part 141 is a more structured, academy-style training path. FAA-certificated Part 141 schools must use an approved syllabus, maintain specific facilities and records, and operate with more formal oversight. The FAA says Part 141 schools are required to use a structured training program and syllabus, along with dedicated training facilities, instructor oversight, and approved course curricula.

Best for:

  • Career-focused students
  • International students
  • Students who do well with a formal step-by-step structure
  • Students who want a school environment with clear milestones

Advantages:

  • More organized and standardized
  • FAA-approved course structure
  • Often a strong fit for visa-sponsored and full-time students
  • In some programs, minimum flight-hour requirements can be lower than under Part 61 because of the approved curriculum structure.

Things to consider:

  • Less flexibility in pacing
  • More formal progress checks
  • Better for students who can commit to a planned training flow

Part 61

Part 61 is the more flexible training path. It is governed by the FAA rules for pilot certification, flight instructors, and training requirements, but the instruction itself is not tied to a Part 141 school syllabus. That usually means the instructor and student can tailor the pace and sequence more freely.

Best for:

  • Students with changing schedules
  • Part-time learners
  • Students balancing work, family, or travel
  • Learners who want a customized pace

Advantages:

  • More scheduling flexibility
  • Training can be adapted to the student
  • Good for students who cannot commit to a full structured program

Things to consider:

  • Less formal structure
  • Progress depends more on student consistency and instructor planning
  • Can take longer if training is interrupted frequently

A good way to explain it is this:

Part 141 = more like a college program

Part 61 = more like private lessons with flexibility

Which one is better? – Neither is universally “better.” The right choice depends on the student.

Both Blue Angels Flight Experience and  SkyEagle Aviation Academy share a similar philosophy: aviation training should be real, structured, and based on honest expectations. Students arriving from Blue Angels will come with motivation, foundational knowledge, and simulator experience that can support their progress in flight training. That early preparation can benefit the student, shorten the path to certification, and strengthen outcomes for everyone involved.

This new partnership is a strong example of how aviation dreams are built today. They no longer begin only at an airport or in a cockpit. Sometimes they begin in a simulator room, in a local training center, in a STEM-focused environment, or in a conversation with a mentor who helps a student believe that flying is truly within reach.

flight training

For students in The Bahamas, that matters.

It means they can begin closer to home, build confidence, prepare academically, and then move forward into full FAA flight training with a school that understands structure, progression, and international student pathways. It means the dream that once felt far away can now follow a visible route: discover aviation, prepare locally, train professionally, and build a real career.

SkyEagle Aviation Academy is proud to welcome Blue Angels Flight Experience as a new training partner in The Bahamas, and we are excited about what this collaboration will create for the next generation of pilots.

Sometimes a dream stays a dream. But sometimes, with the right partnership, it becomes a flight plan.
