SkyEagle Aviation Academy is based in sunny South Florida, at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE). This is one of the most active training airports in the region, with a mix of flight schools, business jets and corporate aviation.

For students, this location offers:

  • Real-world radio communication in busy controlled airspace
  • Diverse traffic – from training aircraft to business jets, police helicopters, medevac and more!
  • Multiple instrument approaches (ILS, LOC, GPS, etc.), ideal for IFR training

Two Main Bases in Fort Lauderdale

SkyEagle operates from two primary locations around the airport perimeter:

1801 S Perimeter Road, Suite 180

  • Modern academic center for ground school and advanced courses (including ATP-level theory)
  • Comfortable classrooms, lobby and study space for students

1707 S Perimeter Road, Hangar 33A

  • Main hangar, offices and classroom space
  • Parking and daily operations for the school’s aircraft
  • Briefing areas and access to the simulator

Take a virtual tour of these facilities: walk through the lobby, step into the hangar and ramp.

Hangars: Homes for the Training Fleet

From day one you’re in a cockpit that looks like the rest of your aviation career.

SkyEagle Aviation Academy operates two hangars at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. These hangars are used for both aircraft parking, showroom space, events and in-house maintenance.

Key points about the hangar facilities:

  • The school owns its aircraft, rather than relying on short-term rentals or leases. This ensures better scheduling, higher dispatch reliability and full control over maintenance.
  • Hangars is dedicated to maintenance and inspections, including:

– mandatory 100-hour and annual inspections;

– additional 50-hour checks and preventative maintenance to keep the fleet in top shape.

  • Certified mechanics work on SkyEagle aircraft daily, aiming to return any grounded airplane to service as quickly and safely as possible.

Inside the hangars you’ll also find:

  • Small briefing rooms for preflight and postflight debriefings
  • The RedBird FMX full-motion simulator for procedures, IFR training and emergency scenarios
  • Our brand new Airbus A320 FTD simulator

Many episodes on the YouTube channel show life inside the hangars: engine start, preflight inspections, mechanics at work, and instructors debriefing students right next to the aircraft. These videos make a great visual complement to this page.

What this means for your training:

Classrooms: From Small Groups to Theory

SkyEagle places strong emphasis on structured ground training. Instead of leaving students alone with a book, the academy runs guided courses for each stage of training.

Students have access to:

  • Multiple classrooms of different sizes – from small rooms for 3-4 students to larger rooms for 20-30 participants

Each classroom typically includes: an instructor workstation and computer, projector or large screen, whiteboard, training posters and diagrams with aircraft systems, instrument panels, charts and procedures.

  • Lobby computers for checking METAR/TAF, NOTAMs and planning routes
  • A small in-house library of aviation manuals, POHs, FAR/AIM, weight & balance forms and exam prep materials

On the SkyEagle Aviation YouTube channel, you can see:

Real Private Pilot ground school classes

Lessons on navigation, meteorology and instruments

Fragments of ATP-CTP style training and Airbus A320 systems briefings

Aircraft Fleet: IFR-Equipped Training Aircraft for Every Stage

The core of the SkyEagle Aviation Academy fleet is the Cessna 172, the global standard for primary and advanced flight training.

We are also expanding our fleet of Tecnam aircraft as we modernize and move with the changing training fleet environment.

The fleet includes, among others:

  • Multiple Cessna 172 aircraft – used for PPL, IR, CPL, CFI/CFII and even ATP Single-Engine training
  • Multiple Tecnam Echo MkII trainers with advanced avionics, autopilot and leather interior
  • Beechcraft Duchess BE76 – a twin-engine trainer for multi-engine ratings and ATP Multi-Engine
  • Additional aircraft for special programs, such as Icon A5 and helicopter

Campus Atmosphere: From Lobby to Student Lounge

Beyond hangars and classrooms, SkyEagle offers a training environment designed for daily pilot life:

  • Reception and lobby, where students check in for lessons, review schedules and talk with staff about programs and paperwork
  • A large digital schedule board showing upcoming flights and ground sessions
  • A cozy student lounge, where pilots relax between flights, grab coffee, share experiences, and prepare for the next lesson

Important:

Availability is limited.

Introductory flights are often scheduled during off-peak training hours.

It’s best to book in advance.
